23/04/21: Started Modelling exterior Office for first scene:

I started modelling the first scene location of my FMP. I used a generic building layout for my Office Design with a few trees and a single road so it looks deserted. I used Red walls as the green screen where a overhead sky and city layout will appear.

24/04/21: Started Animating Camera for 1st scene:

I Animated the first scene with the camera panning down onto the building and then zooming in on the entrance door. In the final render the animation was too fast so I decided to slow it down when editing.

26/04/21: Editing 1st Scene in Adobe Premiere:

Screen Shot 2021-04-30 at 11.58.07.png

When Editing the first scene I came across a few small issues when Ultra Keying. One issue appeared to be the shadows of the cubes but when I was editing it fortunately I was able to tweak the settings of the Ultra Key.

27/04/21: Exporting final edit of the first scene:

I Finished exporting my first scene for my FMP and in my opinion It was good because this is the first time I've animated using the camera feature in Blender. Some adjustments need to be made like the movements of the buildings in the background and adding audio.

27/04/21: Animating 2nd Scene of FMP:

Screen Shot 2021-04-30 at 13.51.09.png

When animating the 2nd scene the character I created did not have enough body space, he was too short. To correct this I had to manoeuvre the camera so it cut off the bottom part of the body in the frame, so this made him look in proportion.

The Final Animation came out better than expected because I added in a 2D mouth to my 3D Character which I thought was a cool aspect. I felt it will be good to keep the VHS Filter over the animation because it makes the video appear like an old retro cutscene from a computer game.

30/04/21: Animating 3rd Scene of FMP:

Screen Shot 2021-04-30 at 16.49.58.png

I enjoyed animating the 3rd scene because the computer was fun to create. I re-created the windows XP login and desktop page in Powerpoint. I recorded this with OBS so it looks like someone is actually using the Windows XP computer. The hardest part of the animation process was animating the characters fingers emerging from the hand because they had to appear at certain time lengths.

01/05/21: Animating the 4th Scene of FMP:

Overall the 4th scene was easy to create because I had to focus on animating one character. I plan to add the 2D characters further in the editing process. The only thing that was a problem when animating this scene was the clipping through the computers when the camera was panning into the Boss' Office. I decided that this error would fit in well with the animation so I decided to keep it in.

02/05/21: Animating the 5th Scene of FMP:

This scene is supposed to be how the character "Pinny" has been fired because he blew up a work computer. This was the first appearance of the door which will be shown luring in an employee. The Hallway was perfect for this scene because the door is at the other end of a long hallway which makes it seem creepy.

This is the music I will be using as Pinny walks through the office feeling sad. I will aim to add either a Distortion effect or a Retro effect to make the music match with my project.

04/05/21: Animating the 6th Scene of FMP:

This Scene was interesting to animate because it was hard to animate showing how Pinny rips the door off the wall after knocking. I rotated the door coming off the wall so it looks like it is being torn off the wall. I will be adding in an effect of the door crashing when hitting the floor and also when it is being ripped off the wall.

05/05/21: Creating the Ambience for the Office:

I Feel like creating a weird retro game ambience will be aesthetic for my FMP, the audio will be distorted and sound like a broken VHS player or a Broken TV Signal.

I tried to make the ambience similar to Baldi's Basics in-game ambience. I used different notes throughout the track so in editing I can loop the ambience track.

06/05/21: Adding The Door's Effects:

I added in a glow effect to the door so it appears colourful. I tracked one of the corners of the door so the Glow Effect sticks over the original scene. The Glow effect for the door was made in Powerpoint using the Shape effects in the editing tab. I will try to add more effects to the door further in the editing process.

07/05/21: Animating the 7th & 8th Scene of FMP:

This scene had two variations one with a green screen and one without. This is because I wanted the 2D "Boss" behind the 3D "Pinny" so it seems that they are in the room together.

This scene leads up to the Door mysteriously disappearing when the Boss approaches. The animation was tough to time because the Camera, Head and Body of the character had to be moved at the same time and timed correctly.

10/05/21: Adding Ambience/2D Character and the Door Effect:

I added in a range of effects for the door. This included an effect which is new to me called "Lighting Effect" which adds a spotlight to the scene. I also added in my own ambience audio which was composed in Logic Pro. I added in one of the 2D characters in some of the scenes and I made the character blink so he looks life-like instead of a still image.

12/05/21: Adding 2D Characters and Dialogue Box:

This was the most important edit because I added in dialogue boxes so that you can understand the story and it also adds more character depth. I added in the Boss who is a main supporting character in the FMP. He was created using stock images of a briefcase and a tie, with added limbs and facial expressions.

13/05/21: Animating the 9th Scene:

This scene shows the Eye Logo a second time and draws one of the employees into the door. I used the same effects I used when the door first appeared so it links together. The next scene will show the Door appearing with the logo.

14/05/21: Adding in the Music:

Today I added in the music for my FMP, I composed all of the tracks in Logic Pro with many different Plugins and VST's. When planning where each cue was going to go I made a Cue Sheet which has a number of appearance, the title of the music and when it is going to play in the video. At the moment there is a maximum of 13 cues. I also composed two noticeable songs one is the "Dragnet Theme" and the other is "She Works Hard For the Money" which were my favourite ones to create.

Some Music Used:

1M1 - Opening/ The Office
1M4 - Boss Talk
2M2 - Pinny's Fired
2M3 - DUN, DUN, DUUUNN!!!/ To The Boss' Office

17/05/21: 2D Character going into door & Slowed Down Scenes:

I slowed down the dialogue in my FMP so the viewers have enough time to read it and know what the story is about. I dedicated enough time for the longer sentences to be read and less time for the shorter sentences so that all of the sentences are on the screen for the right amount of time to enable the viewer to read it all. I also added in a 2D character walking into the door so you know that the Door is intriguing employees. I will also show the logo on the screen for a brief second so it connects to the next appearance of the door.

19/05/21: Adding the Logo (a 2nd Time) & Adding in the last Scene:

To create some mystery when I added the last scene I tried to create a cliff hanger. I decided to show the 2nd employee going into the door and then finally Pinny. I used a cinematic lighting effect as he heads into the door. I will add some dramatic music which I heard on a website called APM Music. It will finish with a light flash then dimming to black then the credits will start.

20/05/21 + 21/05/21: Editing my FMP & Credits:

I have finished animating and rendering in Blender, now I'm focusing on editing the Audio and Effects side of my project. I slowed down the footage of Pinny walking into the door because the clip was too quick in the final edit. I managed to add in an end credits sequence with all the programs and audio I used for my FMP. Throughout the sequence I decided to add in a clear lighting effect so that the door can be seen clearer. I also decided to use a shape effect for the interior of the door so it looks like the door leads into a dark void.

24/05/21: Finishing off my FMP:

This will be the last day of animating and rendering in Blender. Throughout the week I will be adding audio and editing so the video will be up to standard.
