Practical
When creating my FMP animation I found parts of it were a pain to render because of the upload size. To improve this I had to shorten the keyframes and edit them in Premiere.
The Secret Door - I had a problem with the effect of the secret door. I could not get the tracking perfect because I used there was nothing to track. To overcome this I decided to use a lighting effect over the video.
Speed & Duration - I found that some of my animation was moving too fast and so I needed to change the "Speed/ Duration" setting in Premiere. This was also happening with the dialogue, which viewers were unable to read the longer sentences as they were moving to fast. To solve this problem I had to change the timeframe to match the length of the sentence.
Deadline - My FMP is quite involved and I don't think I would get it completed in the time given and so to overcome this I decided to shorten the story of my FMP. My Videos are taking too long to upload and so to solve this I have lowered the quality and frame-rate to speed this up.
Animating/ Tracking 2D Objects - When animating the 2D side of my FMP the 2D characters and backgrounds did not track well when editing. To fix this I had to go though frame by frame and move the 2D object. Hopefully throughout this project I won't run into this problem again.
Ambience & VHS Filter - I added in an ambience which sounded like it would fit well in my FMP, but when it came to editing the audio sounded annoying and loud. I decided to add a reverb to it so it sounded immersive but the outcome sounded worse than the original. In the end I replaced the original ambience with a standard office ambience. I came across the same problem when adding a VHS filter to my project which is harder to achieve because it is a visual aspect. I tried changing the opacity and contrast of the filter but in the end it was still annoying so I decided to have the filter appear in only certain points of the video.
The 2nd Appearance of the Symbol - One point in the FMP that needed to be adjusted was the Symbol appearing on paperwork. This was because it just looked like a png image was stuck on top of the video.
Leg Animating (Walking) - This problem was fixed without needing editing because even though the animation of the legs did not look like they were walking, the problem fixed itself because of the speed and duration of the clip was fast so it was barely noticeable.
Fast Camera Turns - When rendering some of the animations I had to move the camera from one scene to another which was easy because I dedicated one second in the render for the camera movement. In editing I simply removed the movement where the camera moves to the next location which made it easier when editing.
Example:
This was the scene with the most
camera movements I used this
technique with the door becoming
smaller, because it would have got
in the way of the camera shot.
Door Lighting - In the final scene I created I improved the Door's lighting but had problems when trying to track the spotlight and the lights during the camera movement. In the end I had to cut out the camera movement and make it cut to the next scene.
Music/ Audio too long - For the end credits I chose two songs to play for a short duration. I edited them down in Audacity until they were about 45 seconds long. A problem I had was that the two songs were too long so I had to compress the duration of the songs to about 30 seconds long and try to pan out the credits to fit the time of the audio.
Uploading - I had some problems trying to render and export the 3D animation in Blender because of the size of the file and the duration of the animation. To fix this I tried to shorten the animation and slow it down in Premiere and I also lowed the quality of the video slightly so that the size of the file would not be too massive.
